My professional life is divided between teaching and creation.
I am a professor of violin making at the Academy of Music in Monaco within which there is a school of violin making. 
The course is intended for students who aspire to make it their trade but also attracts a varied and curious audience who wishes to approach the art of violin making.
The rest of my time is spent creating.

In my workshop, I dedicate exclusively to the construction of new instruments - viola, violins and cellos - and their development.
Violin making is, from my point of view, essentially an acoustic research, along with the best possible aesthetic. 
In the realization of a violin, alto or cello, everything is based on these two criteria, from the choice of the raw materials to the final varnishing.
I personally choose the wood I use in specialized sawmills in northern Italy. Each piece, carefully selected on aesthetic and mechanical criteria, will have to wait another 5 to 10 years before being used to create an instrument.
The models I create are inspired by classic Cremona, Venice and Brescia, revisited and interpreted to my taste.
I also personally prepare and cook the varnishes using linseed oil, natural mastic and Trementina Veneta.
The rich collaborations - and in some cases, ensuing friendship - with professional musicians keeps adding a significant contribution to my career and my professional development.
The workshop is located at 21 rue Georges Doublet, Nice (France).
